Gail essex was asleep when the fire started tearing through the fifth floor of the grand lake gardens building. They have a big alarm that goes on and a strobe light and lots of loud announcements, shelter in place, we have a fire on the fifth floor. Reporter she was able to quickly grab some belongings before evacuating. Tonight shes one of dozens of residents who have been transferred to a nearby sister facility, piedmont gardens.
