Organic Arab American ethnic community journalism vanishing

In October 1999 when the fledgling National Arab American Journalist Association (NAAJA) hosted its first national Writer's Conference in Chicago, nearly 300 journalists, writers and students attended in the hopes of creating a broader network that pushed the Arab community's interests in writing into breaking the glass ceiling against Arabs in American journalism.

Second Season of The Ray Hanania Show Arab American radio launches April 6

The second season of "The Ray Hanania Show" live radio will launch on Wednesday, April 6 featuring a focus on Ramadan and a new law passed in Minneapolis that permits the Adhan from the city's mosques between 7 AM and 10 PM. Hosted by the U.S. Arab Radio Network and radio president Laila Alhusini, the radio show will broadcast on 4 radio stations in the following communities every Wednesday afternoon at 5 PM.

CHICAGO: Every April since 2017, Arab Americans throughout the US celebrate their heritage and contributions to the nation during “Arab American Heritage Month,” featuring dinners, festivals and cultural presentations. The national event is similar to heritage months that recognize the achievements of Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans and African Americans.
