Dense smog has engulfed Lahore once again and affected life. A man from Lahore on Wednesday approached the Lahore High Court against the Punjab government s failure to take effective measures to curb smog. SAMAA TV reports that a concerned citizen has filed the petition stating that Lahore has become the most polluted city due to lack of control over environmental pollution. Justice Shahid Karim heard the petition. The petition said no effective measures have been taken to curb emissions which are spreading smog and causing other diseases including eye and throat diseases. He requested the court to order the government to take urgent and necessary steps to eradicate smog. .

The Lahore district administration has set up selfie booths at COVID-19 vaccination centres to encourage more people to get inoculated. “Many people take selfies,” said Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Usman Younis. “The idea behind the booth is to make people use this hashtag and make it popular.” The backdrop features the hashtag #IGOTVACCINATED, against which people from different age brackets are capturing their vaccination experience. LAHORE – Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its government are firmly standing with institutions while Sharif family is on the other side
“Sharif family has a history of making institutions ‘controversial’ to promote self-interest at the cost of the state. They (Sharifs) have prioritized personal interests over everything including the armed forces,” she said while talking to journalists at the Lahore Press Club.
Dr Firdous said the political future of the Sharif family was bleak. “It is astounding that the one who guaranteed the return of a so-called patient from London is now trying to flee the country,” she said, while pointing out towards PMLN leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.

Lahore Police on Wednesday carried out the 18th flag march in different areas of the city to monitor law and order situation as well as the implementation of coronavirus SOPs during the lockdown.
Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mehmood Dogar along with Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Usman led the flag march. DIG Operations Sajid Kiani, Lahore CTO Syed Hammad Abid and other senior police officers also participated in the flag march.
