Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have attacked the Ikorodu area of Lagos State and killed two persons, identified as 59-year-old Suru Arije and 30-year-old Ilufoye Azeez. It was also gathered that the gunmen also kidnapped a yet-to-be-identified woman during the attack that occurred around 11am on Wednesday in the Alagemo community of Igbelaara, off Ijede road in Ikorodu. Police sources said that four vigilante members were injured during the attack but noted that the police had begun investigation into the incident.

The Nigeria Police Force has reacted to a video of one of its officers caught on camera demanding money from a car driver. SaharaReporters had reported that the police officer captured in the viral video had insisted that the motorist would not leave unless he paid him the demanded bribe. “Do sharp sharp and go now, if not, I will do my job,” the erring policeman had been heard in the video.
