The Nigeria Police Force has refunded N68,000 extorted from a Lagos State-based female tricycle rider identified as Joy Ivie Aghama by some police personnel attached to the Area N Division at Ijede Area Council. This was disclosed by #TakeItBackMovement in a Twitter post made on Saturday afternoon, adding that the culprits were already facing disciplinary action at the force. The police, according to the group, are also responsible for her tricycle repair and her medical bills.
A Lagos State-based businessman, Idowu Samuel, has raised the alarm over threats to his life by an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Benerd Alabi, attached to the Orile Police Station in Lagos State. Samuel told SaharaReporters that the senior police officer had vowed to kill him before he left Orile for refusing to give him a N100,000 bribe and for reporting him and his team to one of the superior officers at the station.
A Lagos State-based businessman, Ayodele Oluwaseun, has cried out over the alleged theft of hides and skin worth $252,000 which he imported from Venezuela between November 28, 2022 and March 30, 2023. According to Oluwaseun, he was allegedly hoodwinked and defrauded of the goods by a Kano-based businessman Alhaji Maniru Garba with the connivance of International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) officers.
