The project adds construction, auto technology, welding and advanced manufacturing classes.
The academy is open to all school corporations in Tippecanoe County.
Lafayette School Corporation Superintendent Les Huddle said the academy offers programs that allow for employment right after high school. You are entering the job market, he said. You re going to get a nice salary. You re going to probably have benefits for yourself or your family and one thing you won t have is college debt.
