POLICE Commissioner Holomo Molibeli is probably a frustrated man. This after the Court of Appeal refused to hear his application for the nullification of the September 2020 High Court judgement which revoked his 7 August 2020 dismissal of Lesotho Police Staff Association (LEPOSA) national treasurer, Lance Sergeant ‘Mathebe Motseki.
The case was supposed to be heard on Monday by the Court of Appeal bench comprising of its president Kananelo Mosito and fellow judges, Phillip Musonda (from Zambia) and Johann Van Der Westhuizen (South Africa).
However, Justice Mosito ruled that the case could not proceed in the absence of records showing the reasons why High Court Judge Tšeliso Monapathi ruled in favour of Lance Sergeant Motseki.
MASERU-Agriculture and Food Security Minister Tefo Mapesela was fired last night.
In a brief statement, the Prime Minister’s office said His Majesty King Letsie III had accepted the advice of Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro to release Mapesela from office.
The dismissal was with effect from yesterday.
The terse statement did not state any reasons.
However, the firebrand politician has been in the news in recent weeks after he defied a Cabinet decision to reverse the controversial sale of farming equipment to farmers.
The decision was widely condemned as a corrupt transaction.
When Parliament called him to come and testify over the matter, he flatly declined the invitation.

They have sought urgent reliefs to, among other things, interdict Mr Thabane from making decisions on behalf of the ABC and attending its NEC meetings due to his alleged ill health until a new leader is elected at an elective conference
