Yet, while there might seem to be little in common between Sir Winston Churchill and Ernestine Young, they met in unlikely circumstances when the wartime leader received the Freedom of Aberdeen in 1946. Churchill had plenty of connections with Dundee, where he had served as an MP for many years, but didn’t make many official visits to the Granite City.
