She was already homeschooling many of her seven other children, who had variously come back home to the family pile from university and boarding school a month earlier. Holed up in their neo-gothic country house in Kent, Ingress Abbey with husband Sam Malin, a Canadian/British oil and gas billionaire, it was a full-on experience. Ordinarily Major would have had domestic help, particularly with the toddlers, but with the world in the grip of the pandemic s first wave, the 41-year-old had sent her nannies home to be with their families in the Philippines.
