Good evening. And on this important day, this goes beyond a very special program. As you can see, the topic is important, it will run longer than usual but in every way it is the same as our other panels, there will be an opportunity for questions. If you can make it to a microphone that would be great because it is filled on cspan, and live streamed on our Facebook Page and it is helpful if people can hear the question is the question is asked. Lastly there will not be a signing afterward but we have copies of all our guestss books, they are very prolific, we dont have all of all of their books, but some of all of their books and help yourselves to those as well. We appreciate you being part of this discussion. We can think of no better way to honor the legacy of Martin Luther king junior especially on his National Holiday named for him then having this distinguished group of panelists to educate and lead us in a conversation about race in america. Before we get going lets explain for
Welcome to the wisconsin State Capitol. We are standing in the rotunda of the building. This is the public area of the capitol. This is where we have all of our big parties, presentations. A little bit about the outside. You see a big white stone building. That stone is granite we got from vermont. 43 different kinds of stone, stone from all over the world, six foreign countries, eight states. Only a little bit of the stone is actually from wisconsin. Great big dome on the outside covered with granite. We have the only State Capitol to completely cover the exterior in granite. We finish it off with a statue on the top. We call her wisconsin. She has a w on her chest, a helmet on her head. Top of her head is a badger. We have wisconsin facing toward the nations capitol. Shes 15 feet, 5 inches tall, over 6,000 pounds. Then we gave her that nice gold coat. As you look past me behind me, it says legislation on a mosaic. An artist created each of the mosaics with 100,000 little pieces of co
Idea that everyone living in london is living the life of riley. Has prizes are driving people out . I wa nt prizes are driving people out . I want a government that deals with Employment Issues for the whole country. In former Mining Communities that have high levels of unemployment, deprivation, iwant communities that have high levels of unemployment, deprivation, i want a Labour Government and a National Investment bank and invest in those communities and bring hope and opportunity is for those people just as much as i want to conquer homelessness on the streets of london, birmingham or manchester, it is the country we are talking about. You very helpfully mentioned the Opinion Polls, i am really pleased about that, it was very kind of you. All i can say is in 2015, almost exactly two years ago, i was given 2001 exactly two years ago, i was given 200 1 as an outside chance. Exactly two years ago, i was given 2001 as an outside chance. Cheering applause i think that is what my young
Yesterday. Livermore minus 7. It is cooler. It is nice today. Upper 60s and low 70s. Getting busy sal, or busier. It has been busy for the last hour. Now were seeing the peak of the commute, starting off with the toll plaza if youre trying to get into San Francisco. A couple of minor crashes but the traffic is slow at the toll plaza. Nothing out of the ordinary. 20 to 25 minute delay if you make it on to the span. You see that traffic will be okay. You look at the south bay commute and the traffic is going to be slow. Almost every friday getting up to the west valley. There is still room when you get there. All of the traffic is essentially moving up to the west. Theyre all going here. Pretty soon this area will be crowded as well. Just give yourself extra time. Look at downtown san jose. You can see for yourself that 280 northbound is slow around that corner up to highway 17. At 7 01, the chp is investigating a violent crash that killed three women this morning in marin county. Allie
Gasia mikaelian. Im mike mibach. Busy newscast for you. Nfl owners meeting in houston. No vote expected but a lot of discussion about the potential move to las vegas for the raiders. First lets check the weather with sal. A major crash on 680 up to highway 24. There was a crash that resulted in no injuries. But then two of the people tried to run across the freeway. And then they were hit by a car. Or a couple of cars at least. Southbound 680 is affected. This is the area here. And 680 is just a parking lot from concord down to walnut creek. Southbound 680 is slow because as you pass the scene, you can see quite a bit. Again, we dont know why the people got out of the car and ran across the freeway. But thats always its just a terrible idea to try to run across a freeway. They did get hit. And the injuries are severe. Were trying to find out more. But its a good area to avoid. Up to the north bay, thats where the chp is investigating a violent crash that claimed the lives of three men.
