The Aledo Softball team will try to move one step closer to a state title on Friday afternoon. That's when the Lady Bearkats face Georgetown in the state semifinal in Austin. In three of their previous four trips to the state tournament, the Aledo softball team has hoisted the championship trophy. There is high school basketball scheduled for Friday, as most state tournaments begin their quarterfinal round, Mountain Home’s boys will be among the area teams in action. The Bombers return to Hot Springs Junior Academy to face Jonesboro in the Class 5A State Tournament.
Mountain Home is 11-13 on the season after beating Hot Springs Lakeside by 11 on Wednesday. Jonesboro beat Jacksonville in double overtime on Monday to improve to 21-6. The two teams previously met on Jan. 2, when the Golden Hurricane defeated a depleted Bomber team by a score of 63-28.

Our first boys nominee is Valley View. CJ Delancy posts up and in. He had 22 points and 12 rebounds on Tuesday. The LIU Brooklyn signee helped the Blazers beat Westside 71-59 Tuesday on rivalry night.
