The State Government is encouraging those eligible to take their Covid-19 booster shot following the rise of sporadic infections in Sabah.
Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said of the 437 cases recorded in Sabah on Sunday, 201 were symptomatic cases accounting for 46 per cent of the caseload.
He said 45 out of 98 cases in Kota Kinabalu were symptomatic, including 19 out of 39 cases in Penampang, 23 out of 38 cases in Kota Belud and 13 out of 26 cases in Ranau.
“Districts that often record high figures are also districts with a high number of sporadic infections.
“It is important for all residents to abide by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) seriously and be disciplined to curb transmissions, especially in public spaces or during group meetings.
“As a step to further increase our body’s immunity, it is greatly encouraged for those eligible to get their booster dose according to schedule,&rdquo

Kota Kinabalu: The State Government acknowledges the plight of illegal immigrants needing aid.
However, State Government assistance is only extended to Sabahans with citizenship as many locals required it.
“The State Government, by principle, only provides assistance to those with citizen status.

“However, if non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and members of the public wish to provide assistance to illegal immigrants, the State Government will not forbid,” said Sabah’s Covid-19 Spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun

He was responding to reports of an increasing number of illegal immigrants (PTI) who have put up white flags around Kota Kinabalu seeking food and other basic necessities.
