Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed yesterday noted that the allocation of 150 thousand doses of the vaccine to the state by the federal government was not adequate and sufficient.
Mohammed, therefore, pleaded with the federal government to purchase the required doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine in order to meet the number of Nigerians.
He appealed to the federal government yesterday after receiving the vaccine at the Government House in Bauchi alongside his wife, Aisha Bala Mohammed and the Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela.
Also, the Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Aliyu Jibo; the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Ladan Salihu and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, among others, also received the vaccine yesterday.

Declare state of emergency in education, Northern youths tell govs

Youths from eight northern states have met in Bauchi, Saturday, with a mandate from the Northern States Governors Forum, to share ideas and find solutions to the myriad of challenges facing the region and the country.
The youths under the umbrella of ‘Committee on Youths Engagement Priorities and Inclusion in Governance in Nigeria’ among other things demanded the declaration of a State of Emergency in education in all states of the northern region to catch up with other regions of the country.
The youth committee blamed the poor education index as the major reason for the developmental setbacks in the region when compared with other regions of the country.

Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has counselled youths to engage in meaningful productive ventures, to enable them to contribute positively to national development.
Mohammed disclosed this in Bauchi, on Saturday, at a one-day Town Hall meeting on youth inclusion in governance, organised by the youth committee on engagement and priorities of the Northern Governors’ Forum.
The governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Malam Ladan Salihu, advised the youth to eschew violence, indiscipline and other negative tendencies inimical to their future and national development, stressing that peace was the bedrock for human progress and development.

The police in Bauchi State, on Thursday, disclosed that they had discovered more ammunition in a building at the Anguwan Mahaukata area of Bauchi metropolis, making a total of 348 live ammunitions recovered.
DAILY POST had reported that 204 live ammunitions were recovered by police in the house, which the Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, ordered to be demolished to serve as a deterrent to others.
The state police command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, had revealed to DAILY POST Thursday morning that four suspects were arrested in connection with the discovery of the ammunition.
