“Soil beneath the Border: Frontera Voices and Networks of Support.”
The Ford Foundation and (NALAC) National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures recently awarded La Semilla Food Center with a two-year $75,000 grant. Carreon says “the project will pilot an innovative, place-based fellowship and develop creative story-gathering and storytelling campaigns. It will include expanding their digital communications and online presence during this time when remote community connection continues to be crucial. Building on a foundation grounded in crafting community-based narratives, these initiatives will strengthen La Semilla’s commitment to creating spaces for community lived experiences and histories in the Paso del Norte region.
