There was one question the kids at the Golden Globes got right: they all knew about Chadwick Boseman, the late actor beloved for his role in “Black Panther.” (He was posthumously nominated for a Globe for his role in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.)
Watching young kids, many of them Black, talk about Boseman brought some unexpected pathos to the segment.

You know that “[So-and-so] walked so that [So-and-so] could run” meme? The one acknowledging how our contemporary greats so often follow in the footsteps of earlier legends who laid the groundwork?
Well, the BET Awards, Emmys, NBA Draft, NFL Draft, MTV Music Awards, Super Bowl, Republican National Convention, Democratic National Convention and at least a dozen other major live award shows and televised events from the past year all walked so that Sunday night’s 78th Golden Globe Awards could fall flat on its face.
Soul a second Golden Globe win, surging past a talent-heavy field one that included
Tenetcomposer Ludwig Göransson to earn the award for Best Original Score – Motion Picture. The longtime creative mind behind Nine Inch Nails, Reznor joked in his acceptance remarks that Pixar’s family-friendly film is probably the only screen work he’s ever been a part of “that,” as he put it, “I could show my kids.”

Lovecraft Country, and
Ratched all earned nominations for Best Television Series - Drama. But they all stayed on the sidelines as
The Crown reigned over the category, earning a second Golden Globe for best drama series during the course of its current 4-season run at Netflix.
