After ten days with no lava flows, seismic activity, or major emissions of sulfur dioxide, officials on one of Spain's Canary Islands proclaimed a volcanic eruption that began in September officially over on Saturday. In order to announce the apparent exhaustion of the Cumbre Vieja volcano, experts stated they needed to verify that major variables had reduced for 10 days.
"No matter how low you feel, at this time of the year you must be strong for the children because they are excited about Christmas," said the 22-year-old mother of two.
The Cumbre Vieja volcano was known to be an active volcano on the island of La Palma, and has been spewing lava in the Canary Islands in the past three months. However, experts are concerned that its recent seismic inactivity could mean a threat in the Spanish Island.
