about to get harder. there s a senate impeachment trial looming over them as people are starting to make their decisions in january in iowa. i talked with klobuchar about that. i want to show you a part of our conversation. listen. i m sure we ll use tech nothing and skype into all four states. skype campaigning? i don t know what we re going to do. we re going to find a way to do it. i have said this publicly and also at a leadership meeting. i m in leadership in the senate. i was the only presidential candidate in the room with senator schumer and others, and the few of us i said look, i m not going to change anything. i think that we should have the trial that is the best. we should get the most witnesses we can. on the debate stage this week you said remember the kavanaugh hearings. that was a strong moment for you in your role as a senator. something i actually hear voters still talk about. is there an up side to you being someone in the trial hearings? i think there may
kendis. we ve moved indo yindoors becau storms. the briefing room while on duty in florida when they have them. we re out from the stormy skies. the impasse you talked about at issue throughout the holiday season, likely. because there s a position speaker pelosi wants to know more from the senate what the a senate trial would look like, and senators are saying they have a different view when talking about republicans. they don t believe the democrats have this sort of leverage and in the days in between we re going to hear a lot of debate about what a senate trial should look like. should it include witnesses? how long should it be? and how will it, in some ways, affect the democrat senators running for president and their need to be off in iowa and new hampshire and juggle all that. certainly this is an issue that will sort of grind away over the holiday season. we heard the president addressing a group of young
