La Crosse County Board has approved a $370,000 grant over three years to enhance the joint efforts between the City of La Crosse and the county in improving response to mental health crisis situations. The Connect and Protect grant aims to provide timely resources, reducing hospitalization and criminalization, and expanding response hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Grant Mathu, a former UWL student, announces his candidacy for the District 6 supervisor position on the La Crosse County Board. Having previously served as District 5 supervisor, Mathu brings experience in economic development, arts, and veterans affairs to the role. Voting for this position will take place in the Spring of 2024.
