The Air Force is set to retire the A-10 "Warthog" aircraft stationed at Martin State Airport, a decision that left Maryland's Air National Guard in the dark.
The A-10 Warthog is not meant to be pretty or stealthy and does not pretend to be anything other than what it is: a plane designed to provide air cover and kill things like enemy armor.
The A-10 Warthog has a drawback – a fatal drawback – which would render the jet useless in the skies above Ukraine if it was ever called upon to fight Russia.
