Last night at the Entertainment Community Fund, (formerly The Actors Fund) gala, they announced the $160 million ESSENTIAL Campaign: a bold and comprehensive effort that will combine all of the organization’s fundraising, allowing the Fund to serve more people in more places.
Michael James Scott, the Orlando-raised actor who played Genie in “Aladdin” on Broadway and beyond, will serve as honorary grand marshal of the Festival of Fantasy parade at Magic Kingdom on Feb. 6. The event will help kick off Walt Disney World’s Black History Month activities, which the resort packages as “Celebrate Soulfully.” Scott also is scheduled to appear in the Disney on Broadway .
