The No. 9 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs (49-6) move on to the South Central Regional Finale after a nail-biting 5-4 win over No. 7 Colorado Christian (56-5) Friday afternoon. Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year, Emilee Boyer (18-2), picked up the win in the circle while also dominating in the batters box. The freshman went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI’s plus a two-run home run in the top of the third to that put the Lady Buffs on the board first.
The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs softball team adds another accolade to their successful regular season performance. Catcher Shanna McBroom was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year. The senior became the fourth Lady Buff in program history to receive the honor.

CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs softball team is on a roll, riding a 10-game winning streak and ending the regular season with two perfect games against Eastern New Mexico. The doubleheader sweep secured Head Coach Michael Mookâs 200th career win at WT.
Pitchersâ Kyra Lair and Emilee Wilson threw back-to-back perfect games, becoming the second and third Lady Buffs in program history to record the feat. At bat, senior catcher Shanna McBroom has led the charge all season, hitting a Lone Star Conference league-best .476 with six home runs and 32 RBI. On Monday, McBroom was named a top 30 finalist for Schutt Sportsâ NFCA DII national player of the year. The overall team effort all season contributed to Coach Mook

CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Perfect games are a rarity, but No. 10 ranked West Texas A&M (32-10) made program history twice on Saturday, May 1. Redshirt sophomore and Canyon Lady Eagles alum Kyra Lair and redshirt sophomore right-hander Emilee Wilson both pitched Perfect games in the Eastern New Mexico University doubleheader. WTAMU now has three Perfect games in softball program history.
