HOMELESS people in Weymouth have been offered some much needed eye care, courtesy of an opticians. A team from Specsavers on St Thomas Street volunteered their time to offer homeless and vulnerable people comprehensive eye tests, using hospital-grade technology to give them the best possible care. The service was made possible when Specsavers joined forces with community charity The Lantern Trust, which aims to help vulnerable and marginalised people in Weymouth and Portland. The charity, which was founded in 1983, aims to bring lasting change in people s lives through a dedicated service meeting people s practical, emotional and personal aftercare needs, and, through partnering with Specsavers, homeless and vulnerable people were offered medical care and were given glasses to take away with them.
