Sheriff s Office s Child Pornography Investigation Leads to Arrest of NY Man

Loudoun Now An investigation initiated by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office into allegations of child pornography will result in a 15- to 50-year prison sentence for a New York man come June. Matthew Holland, 29 of Newark, NY, pleaded guilty today in federal district court to production of child pornography and possession of child pornography involving prepubescent minors. He faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of 50 years. He will be sentence by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa, in the Western District of New York on June 17. The charges follow an investigation handled by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office that led to the discovery of dozens of victims in New York. That investigation was assisted by the Newark Police Department, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the Canandaigua Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security.

Kennedy, Jr. announced this week that Jordan Sowersby, 25, of Painted Post was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with receipt and possession of child pornography. The charges carry a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum penalty of 20 years, and a $250,000 fine. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi, who is handling the case, stated that according to the complaint, in January and February 2021, an undercover FBI Agent located the defendant offering child pornography for download on the internet. The agent downloaded child pornography directly from Sowersby, which enabled the FBI to determine his location in Painted Post. Steuben County man charged in federal child pornography case

Courier-Advocate staff A 34-year-old Bath man, Charles Augrom III, was charged Tuesday with receipt and distribution of child pornography.  The charges carry a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 20 years, and a $250,000 fine. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi, who is handling the case, said according to the criminal complaint, in July 2020 an undercover law enforcement officer was investigating individuals who use Peer to Peer file sharing applications to share child pornography over the internet. During the undercover session, the officer downloaded numerous pictures and videos of child pornography that traced back to an IP address belonging to Augrom, officials said. Some of the images and videos included children younger than 12 years old engaged in sexual conduct with adults, as well as depictions of violence.
