A jury considering whether to convict a 20-year-old Spences Bridge man of sexual assault spent three hours Friday evening relistening to testimony on tape and and is expected to spend another three hours Saturday morning hearing evidence for a second time.
The twelve-person jury started its deliberations 1 p.m. Friday to decide the fate of Kyle Yamelst, who is charged with a single count of sexual assault. Jurors are sequestered and will deliberate through the weekend if necessary.
Earlier in the day, Crown prosecutor Chris Balison told the jury there is powerful evidence from a vulnerable young woman sufficient to convict Yamelst in her sexual assault.
