Kyle Pruett: Where’s the promised ‘vigilance’ when it comes to marijuana shops and minors?

The Gazette’s recent coverage of the increased economic health in the marijuana dispensing businesses reminded me of its reporting of discussions about the potential effect on our communities of having such businesses among us, back before any licenses were granted.
Concern then was about access by under-21s, given the legitimate concerns about marijuana and the growing brain (not “finished” till about age 25). The promoters assured us repeatedly that they would strictly monitor age requirements and serve no one who did not have valid ID or failed to meet the age restrictions.
