A woman has been jailed for eight weeks after vandalising the grave of a 22-year-old diabetic man and mocking his death three years after he suffered a hypo.
Simona Julius, 25, daubed paint on the headstone of Liam Scarman at Westerleigh Crematorium in Bristol in November and left a cruel note which read: Ha ha ha Liam. Looks like diabetes won again. P yhole bruv .
After the incident made headlines last year, Bristol Magistrates Court heard she wrote further offensive messages to named family members in Christmas cards days before the third anniversary of Liam s death.
Julius has never explained why she vandalised the grave and terrorised his family, causing a judge to call her actions perplexing and wicked .

A woman in Bristol has been jailed for what s being called a wicked and perplexing crime committed last fall.
As Bristol Live initially reported, the grave of 22-year-old Liam Scarman became the target of harassment and vandalism in November 2020. White paint was poured over the headstone, alongside a note that read, Ha Ha Ha Liam. Looks like diabetes won again! and other offensive messages. Scarman passed away after suffering a diabetic episode in 2017.
Now, the culprit, 25-year-old Bristol resident Simona Julius, has reportedly been jailed for the crime. According to Bristol Live, the sentencing comes after Julius admitted to committing the vandalism and writing the hostile messages.

A woman has been jailed after vandalising the grave of a young diabetic man with the words: “Ha Ha Ha Liam. Looks like diabetes won again.”
Simona Julius also daubed “P hole bruv” in paint on the headstone of Liam Scarman, who died of diabetes at the age of 22 on Boxing Day 2017 after suffering a diabetic hypo.
The 25-year-old carried out the attack overnight between 26 and 27 November 2020, shortly before the third anniversary of Mr Scarman’s death.

Simona Julius, 25, of St George, had admitted criminal damage and two counts of malicious communications at an earlier hearing. Julius daubed white paint over the headstone of 22-year-old Liam Scarman overnight 26 to 27 November 2020. She also left an unpleasant note for his family and, after publicity about the incident, sent further offensive messages to named family members in Christmas cards. She was also ordered to pay £500 compensation to the family and handed a three-year restraining order. District Judge Lynne Matthews described Julius’ actions as “perplexing” and “wicked” adding that the timing of the offences “struck at the very heart” of the family.
