After more than a year of canceled events and plans, the desire to get out of the house is only growing. Local camps and organizations are helping families break out of that cycle, and abandon cabin fever for a time in an actual cabin at a day camp.
There are many programs throughout the shoreline, at all different price points and with different activities depending on children’s interests.
Deer Lake Camp
Deer Lake Camp in Killingworth offers a day camp and wilderness school option. The day camp is for children in kindergarten through grade eight and runs for five sessions. Session one, from June 21 to 25, and session five, from Aug. 9 to 13, are only a week long and cost $300. Other sessions are two weeks and cost $600.
