Mumbrella Awards 2021 shortlist, Merrick Watts to host the gala event

The shortlist for the 2021 Mumbrella Awards has been announced, with The Monkeys and Special Group among the top nominations.
With 11 nominations, The Monkeys received two nods in the Mumbrella Award for Insight, TV Ad of the Year and Social Idea of the Year categories, as well as nominations in Best Use of Real-Time Marketing, Creative Agency of the Year and Ad Campaign of the Year.
Meanwhile, Special Group earned ten nominations across categories including TV Ad of the Year, Content Marketing Strategy of the Year, Social Idea of the Year, Best Use of Real-Time Marketing, and the Mumbrella Awards for Bravery, Insight and Innovation.

Telstra and The Australian Ballet have launched their latest social media campaign with six micro-ballets created by R/GA, crafted, choreographed and performed specifically for the mobile screen. The spots showcase the talents of the 2020 Telstra Ballet Dancer Awards nominees and calls the public to vote for their favourite to win the People’s Choice Award.
Many Australian Ballet dancers, along with millions of people in Melbourne, were confined to their homes last year. Pushing the confines of space and taking the limits off ballet, each dancer was given a 4×2 metre dancefloor on which they could practice. This restriction became the insight upon which the creative concept was developed: a tiny stage for a tiny screen.

R/GA Australia and long-time partner, Google Australia have announced a ‘new way to laptop’ for Australians through the launch of their ‘Go Big’ campaign for Chromebooks.
The campaign seeks to further establish Chromebooks, a range of new laptops for Australians looking for a versatile laptop that is easy to use. Powered by Chrome OS – the fast, simple and secure operating system built by Google, Chromebooks come with built-in security, fast boot, all day battery and works with the apps available on the Google Play store.
To bring this campaign to life, R/GA and Google teamed up with Jenny Kee, Dan Hong and Poppy Starr – Inspirational Australians who embody this ‘new way’ of computing, to break pre-existing perceptions of Chromebooks and introduce the product and its features.

Chromebook is setting itself apart from other laptops in market, highlighting versatility and ease-of-use, with help from pro-skateboarder Poppy Starr, chef Dan Hong, and fashion designer Jenny Kee.
The campaign from R/GA has launched across YouTube, radio, Spotify, out-of-home, social and digital, with Hong, Starr and Kee each demonstrating the various ways they put their talents to use with the Chromebook.

Google product marketing manager, Ben Mills, said: “By its very design, Chromebook is accessible to everyone and this is perfectly captured by the talents in our campaign. Google is delighted to give Australians this new option.”
