Six schools closed in Kyela due to floods 30 Six schools closed in Kyela due to floods THE government has decided to temporarily close down six schools in Kyela District in Mbeya Region after they were surrounded by floodwater from three rivers – Mbaka, Lufilyo, and Kiwira, the situation that threatens the students’ lives. Four of the closed schools are primary schools including Masebe, Mjwanga, Kajunjumele, and Tenende, and two are secondary schools – Mwaya and Tenende. This was disclosed by the Disasters Coordinator from the Prime Minister’s Office, Winfrida Ngowi said when presenting various items as assistance to flood victims, saying six wards in the District – Mwaya, Katumba-Songwe, Talatala, Kajunjumele, Matema and Bujonde were the ones affected most.
