Wyoming is hitting another wall of winter this week, with snow and wind expected everywhere, with the Bighorn Basin expected to feel some of the chill.
Tim Troutman with the National Weather Service Riverton Office has released a video laying out the scope of the week’s winter storm potential. Wyoming is due for another snowy, slushy week in town and on the highways.
There is a Winter Weather Watch in effect for the Eastern Range, Wind River Mountains, and areas in and around Lander until Thursday evening. As much as eight to fourteen inches of snow could fall, starting early Wednesday morning.

The Wyoming Department of Health announced the state’s public health orders were being extended for another week – so what restrictions are still in effect?
Effective April 15, Wyoming’s two remaining related statewide public health orders are being extended without amendments for another two weeks. This is the regular bi-monthly update that has been in effect since the governor first enacted the orders in March 2020.
“While we continue to see stable case numbers and hospitalizations in most areas of the state, our overall progress seems to have plateaued,” said Dr. Alexia Harrist, state health officer, and state epidemiologist with WDH. “COVID-19 remains a threat for now, with cases growing in other states.”

The second game of the season for the Lady Warrior Fastpitch Softball team would see them face the Rock Springs Lady Tigers.
Their second straight home game at Newell Sargent Park from Don Harkins Field.
Rock Springs had 12 runs off 12 hits scoring 6 runs in the top of the 6th inning.
Lady Tiger Freshman Pitcher Payton Soltis struck out 14 Lady Warriors.
Worland Senior Catcher Carmyn Buckman went 2 for 2 with a triple and a run scored for the Lady Warriors.
Senior Pitcher Brooklynn Hellyer struck out 7 Rock Springs batters. The Lady Tigers would get a 12-1 win over Worland and send the Lady Warriors to 0-2 for the season.
The Lady Warrior Girl's Soccer team went into Saturday's Match-up with the Mountain View Lady Buffalos on a two game win streak and scoring 11 goals over those two wins. Tonight is a night of epic proportions as NYPD detective 1st Grade with Manhattan’s 16th Precinct returns. Elliot Stabler is back to put the law back in order. This year marks the 22nd season of Law & Order Special Victims Unit.
Christopher Meloni (Stabler) left the show after season 12 when contract negations broke down. So his return has been much anticipated. Stabler’s new chapter begins with Law & Order: Organized Crime on NBC tonight at 8 pm. Even if you are not a super fan of the show this is a must watch.
