back to this awful scene in seattle. it was a duck boat colliding with this charter bus. we know from the fire department two people have died. nine are in critical condition. 12 nonlife threatening injuries. when you see the bigger picture, it s a tremendous first responder presence there. you re looking at the triage area as the victims are being taken out on stretchers and back boards. 90 firefighters here on the scene. kwooer we re just getting a statement from the owner and ceo of the ride the ducks company. he told cnn, we are just finding out what is going on and probably won t know more until later. this is tragic. e we just hope everyone is okay. i have a digital correspondent who covers vehicles, transportation issues here for
value of kwooer politics, for folks not in the academy, that s not a slur. it s a self-defining term of not normative. it made our politics different. to think about family constructed in new and different ways. once we had marriage, it s critical and important. but it also feels like an imperative. the conservatives signing on to the marriage equality movement is not surprising. i think there was a moment where it became politically possible for them to do so. i don t think there was a lot of a substantive barrier beyond the religious objection. a long time ago, people like david brooks advocated same-sex marriage because it s a moral good. if we look at that, we can see marriage as a one size fits all institution, is a conservative institution. that just fitting gay couples into that one size fits all
incidents and you pull back and take a look at the profile of the actors. first of all, none of these were spontaneous events. they were planned. many were planned and the knowledge of the planning was known by fellow student or they talked about their suicidal tendencies or their desire to kill people to fellow students. so it s predictable thaty wooer going to be talking about additional gun control legislation. it is far more complicated than that not that we shouldn t but the fact remains, there are multiple layers, if we have a serious conversation about reducing the risk of this happening, we better start dealing with all the layers, it s about priefacy and mental health counseling and aberrant behavior and getting the people the help they need. it s about studenting telling parent their parents or counselors that they have heard the self-destructive rumblings.
