A 22-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 76-year-old man who was attacked with an axe at his home in Dublin last week.
Oliver Doran, a father of three, with an address at Sofia Housing, Cork Street in Dublin was remanded in custody for a week.
The court was told that when he was charged this afternoon with the murder of Kwok Ping Cheng he replied: I m sorry for the man.
Mr Cheng was found fatally injured after he had been attacked with an axe in his home in Robinson s Court off Cork Street in Dublin last Thursday.

Oliver Doran, with an address at Sophia Housing, Cork Street appeared before Dublin District Court this evening, charged with the murder of Kwok Ping Cheng between Wednesday and Thursday last week.
The 76 year old victim was beaten to death in his home at Robinson s Court and was found by a support worker who went to check on him.
Mr Cheng who was originally from Hong Kong, was fondly known to his friends and neighbours as George.

A 22-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a pensioner in Dublin city last week.
76-year-old Kwok Ping Cheng, who was known as George to neighbors, was beaten to death at his apartment in Robinson’s Court.
Mr. Cheng s blood-covered body was found in his sitting room by a support worker who went to check on him in his flat on the morning of April 29th.
Dublin district court heard Oliver Doran, of Sophia Housing, Cork Street replied: I am sorry about the man when charged with Mr Cheng s murder this afternoon.
