An air quality advisory has been issued Monday by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality for eastern Lane County as a result of smoke from the Middle Fork Complex fires burning in areas around Oakridge.
The areas most impacted by smoke, rising to the unhealthy level of air quality, are around Oakridge and Westfir, according to Travis Knudsen, a public affairs manager for the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency.
Knudsen said while Eugene and Springfield are still at good air quality, the air quality drops to moderate reaching areas east of Springfield in places such as Dexter Lake and Vida.
