The President has been told to fix the country because he seems to have relaxed and also making bad decisions which are badly impacting the lives of Ghanaians.
Hashtag fix the country or fix it has been generated by social media users to convey their grievances to the President.
There have been over 500,000 tweets about ‘Fix the Country’, making it the biggest online political protest in Ghana so far. But plans to move it from online to offline has been stopped by the Ghana Police service. Some celebrities, including John Dumelo, Efia Odo, Yvonne Nelson, Joselyn Dumas, Kwaw Kese, Nana Aba Anamoah and Lydia Forson, have joined the protest, highlighting some of the pressing needs of the citizens of Ghana. However, some celebrities believe Ghanaians should fix their attitudes first before asking the government to fix the country. Others claim President Nana Akufo-Addo isn’t Jesus Christ to fix the country’s problems. Another set of celebrities believe hashtags won’t get anywhere while some don’t want to have a hand in it over the politicisation of issues in Ghana.

Italian based Ghanaian rapper Pappy Kojo has jokingly said his fellow rapper Kwaw Kese has relocated to the United States due to Ghana’s ban on cannabis (weed), while contributing to the ongoing Fix the Country protest.
He took to his social media handle to ridicule the Mad Time Records boss who has been an active participant in the ongoing social media campaign the #FixTheCountry.
“Our legend Kwaw Kese has evacuated to yankee because small mixture of ntampi & jot can get u jailed, let’s respect the legends,” Pappy Kojo tweeted.

Top Ghanaian celebrities, including Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo, Lydia Forson, Efia Odo, Ko-Jo Cue, Kwaw Kese, Pappy Kojo, and DKB, have joined the calls. Some supporters of the incumbent government, the NPP, have questioned people’s attitudes, with the majority of them asking Ghanaians to fix their attitudes first before asking the government to fix the country. Others have said the government is fixing things and that Ghanaians are enjoying good governance. Reacting to this, the “Fix Us” actress has listed four major issues facing the country and the need to fix them. According to Yvonne Nelson, improved healthcare, education system, jobs and good roads, adding that people can add more to the list.
