LARAMIE The Wyoming Cowboys dropped a heartbreaker to Colorado State on Thursday evening, as a field goal in the closing seconds by the Rams proved to be a winner in a 74-72 loss in the Arena-Auditorium.
The Pokes fall to 10-8 on the season and 4-7 in conference play with the Rams moving to 13-4 overall and 10-3 in conference play. Junior Hunter Maldonado reached 1,000 career points in the contest becoming the 39th Cowboy to do so.

Whew.
This game was too close for comfort for the ascending Colorado State Rams basketball team. Wyoming, no slouch of their own, proved to be a tough test Thursday night for the Rams in Laramie. It was the first of two match ups against the two this week, and it was a dog fight until the very end.
Things were not looking good for CSU in the first half. Sloppy play from the Rams led to 11 first half turnovers. Isaiah Stevens especially struggled with 3 of his 5 turnovers coming in the first half. It ended up being an overall difficult night for the normally reliable Sophomore guard out of Allen, TX. It wasn’t just Stevens though, as the whole Rams team struggled to get things going in the first half. (Laramie, WY) – The Wyoming Cowgirls were able to overcome a sluggish first half shooting the ball Thursday night in Laramie, thanks to a big second half on their way to a 54-36 win over San Diego State in game one of the series with the Aztecs.
Wyoming (7-7, 5-6 MW) was powered by its two posts,Dagny DavidsdottirandMarta Savicin the win, as the duo combined for 31 points and 10 rebounds. Both recorded career-highs on the night as Davidsdottir scored 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting while also grabbing eight boards and recording a pair of steals. Savic meanwhile, went a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor, scoring 12 points off the bench in replacement of Davidsdottir. As a team, the Cowgirls outscored SDSU 44-8 in the paint.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) Marcus Williams scored 13 of his 28 points in the last 3-1/2 minutes as Wyoming held off Nevada 93-88 on Sunday.
Williams broke a 75-75 tie with a jumper in the paint and converted the three-point play. He made 3 of 4 free throws for an 81-79 lead, and closed the game making another 3 of 4 at the line in the last 31 seconds.
Graham Ike had 18 points for Wyoming (10-5, 4-4 Mountain West Conference). Xavier DuSell added 13 points. Kwane Marble II had 13 points and seven rebounds.
