a deep down hope that we know he ll be safe in the church. reporter: wjz tracked down como s former boyfriend in aberdeen. she s still using his address as her own. her pattern of behavior and her social activities. just nothing can shock me. reporter: including what happened to her son because he says of how he disappeared from him. she left him sleeping here in the crib. and never came back. reporter: court records shows that como has a history of arrests for credit card fraud and theft. she now faces charges in florida. obviously they come from the maryland area. so i m sure they were using this money probably to go on vacation and have a good old time. and they got caught. doctors checked out her son. he s okay now. and his grandparents in florida may get custody. and i just spoke to the little boy s grandmother in maryland. she has been following every development in this. she says she really loves her grandson. and she is so happy that he is safe and oka
has been working around the clock on this case. and we will identify all of these officers by name once all of them have been suspended. when they re done with that initial investigation, we will take it to the grand jury investigation. and we ll see where it goes from there. it shows john mckenna, skipping toward police and waving his arms. then officers rushed the 21- year-old and hit him repeatedly with their baton. mckenna s grandfather. they should go to jail. and my opinion is it was either assault with intent to murder. or at a minimum, assault with intent to maim. both of which are felonies in the state of maryland. we can t have any tolerance for police brutality. and at the same time, there is a process that needs to be gone through here. reporter: in an exclusive cbs news interview, one of mckenna s attorneys also made this accusation. when he arrived at the jail, the officer that was with them, pulled off a badgage and told him not to report it. more
my opinion is either assault with intent to murder or assault with intent to maim, both of which are felonies in the state of maryland. reporter: he s also concerned about mounted national park police officers who did not stop the beating. they have an absolute responsibility to do something. as far as beating, if you want to call it beating, i have no comment, i cannot speak in their behalf. reporter: also, mckenna was struck by the horses and sustained minor injuries. both statements are not substantiated by the tape. police have had trouble quickly identifying the officers involved. they say they are reviewing the facts at the university of maryland to determine any federal criminal nexus. and charges may be brought if and when those officers names will be revealed. we ll take it to the grand jury stage. and we ll see where we go from there. reporter: and again, just moments ago, wjz learned that those officers, the three officers that were directly involved i
