Washington, D.C. (KINY) – U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) today made the following statement after the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) awarded Kuskokwim Consortium Library in Bethel, Alaska, the 2023 National Medal for Museum and Library Service – the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries.
Patrons can now call the library to make an appointment for their study room, general browsing, or computer station. Library Director Theresa Quiner said that they’ll be enforcing the use of masks, and will limit the number of people in the library to 10 at a time. Quiner also said that they plan to have drop-in office hours with their in-house tutor after KuC s spring break.
Unlike the fitness center, the library will be open to anyone, regardless of vaccination status. But Quiner also said that as of Mar. 1, her whole staff is fully vaccinated and is past the two-week waiting period.
