Business rescue practitioners of the Gupta-linked Optimum Coal Mine in Mpumalanga have started various processes to ensure that the business rescue remains viable following the decision of the Richards Bay Coal Terminal to suspend the mine’s use of its export entitlement.
In the latest turn of events, business rescue practitioners Kurt Robert Knoop and Kgashane Christopher Monyela have taken a swipe at reports by the National Prosecuting Authority's appointed curator, Peter van den Steen, saying they are "nothing but desktop research from a person who had never set the foot at the mine when he wrote the reports".
Optimum Coal business rescue practitioners are threatening to go to court should the Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) board continue with its stance over the use of the export terminal.
