Njiwah was the National Vice Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He started his career in December 1967 as a Boundary Surveyor with Gashaka/Mambilla/Kurmi Local Authority.
Njiwah was a Technician with Posts and Telecommunication, Maiduguri (1969 to 1970). He taught at the Government Secondary School, Gembu (1973 to 1974).
He served as Secretary at Wukari Local Government in Gongola State (now Taraba State) from 1981 to 1983.
Njiwah was Commissioner for Rural Development and Co-operatives in Gongola and Secretary to Taraba Government from June 2012 to July 2013.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on Sunday, expressed sadness.

Alhaji Saleh Mamman, Minister of Power, on Saturday, in Jalingo, inaugurated a Youths Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Training (YESAT) for 500 youths in Taraba.
The empowerment and skills acquisition programme is under the Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project (MHEPP) Local Content Initiative.
Speaking at the event, Mamman said the programme was a collaboration of the power ministry and the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) aimed at addressing MHEPP’s manpower development needs, and to adequately prepare host communities and the entire state, to derive maximum benefits from the project.
