Along the Street: Construction begins on new urgent care clinic in Mac An urgent care medical center is under construction in south McMinnville. McMinnville Urgent Care Clinic is being built at 1755 S.W. Baker St., between the Walnut City Lanes bowling alley and Baker Street Animal Hospital. Eight Nova OR McMinnville LLC took out building permits for the project in late January. According to the City of McMinnville, the permit values were for $65,000 for mechanical work and $550,000 for the main structure. Samantha Coponen, a manager with EIG14T Development and National Urgent Care Development LLC, based in Troy, Michigan, submitted various planning applications with the city, on behalf of property owner Michael A Wilson Trust.

State grants offered for historic properties, archaeological projects, museums SALEM, Ore. (KTVZ) The State Historic Preservation Office is offering grants for work on historic properties and for archaeology projects. The annual grants fund up to $20,000 in matching funds for preservation projects. Both grant programs support the goals of the Oregon Historic Preservation Plan. The Preserving Oregon Grants fund preservation of historic properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Work may include non-maintenance preservation like window repair, roof work, foundation projects, plumbing, and electrical needs. News Release from  Posted on FlashAlert: December 15th, 2020 8:17 AM A new study released by the Oregon Heritage Commission addresses the value of heritage organizations through the lens of volunteerism. through the lens of volunteerism.  The Value of Oregon Heritage Organizations’ Volunteers, completed by The Nonprofit Institute of Portland State, surveyed heritage organizations about their volunteers and the volunteers themselves. The commission learned that volunteers clearly value the heritage organizations by giving to them, affirming what was already understood. The research also revealed that volunteers get something special from working for heritage organizations.   Volunteers power heritage organizations throughout the state, whether they have paid staff or not. Of the 76 organizations throughout Oregon that participated, 23 are all volunteer run. Of those that track volunteer hours, 321,863 hours were contributed in 2019.
