trace: the f.b.i. is investigating a sophisticated cyber attack that stole the social security numbers and other personal information of more than 120,000 federal employees including at least 25 members of congress. the department that handles the retirement savings plans for federal employees reports the attack went down last year but the department just started notifying those affected today. according to the government accountability office the number of attacks has skyrocketed in recent years. jennifer griffin with the news is live for us at the pentagon. how serious was this hacking attack? very sophisticated. 25 members of congress in both the house of representatives and senate had information associated with their accounts compromised. more than 123,000 accounts were affected, 79,000 i am told had their social security numbers exposed. some had bank routing numbers stolen and thrift savings plan is the main 401(k) style
