The brutal murder of the High Court lawyer couple Gattu Vamana Rao and Nagamani in broad daylight has sent shock waves across the State of Telangana. As per the dying man s testimony recorded by an onlooker, the advocate had named former MPTC, TRS mandal president from Manthani, Kunta Srinivas, in the attack.
Police have registered a case against three people in connection with the murder of the lawyer couple. Kunta Srinivas, Akkapaka Kumar and Vasantha Rao of Gunjanipadugu village were said to be the key accused after Vaman Rao s father Gattu Kishan Rao lodged a complaint against them. Akkapaka Kumar, one of the main accused, is currently in police custody, Commissioner Satyanarayana told Sakshi. It is noteworthy that only one of the two who escaped the murder is in their custody. Police on Thursday arrested three prime accused in the sensational lawyer couple murder, which triggered State wide protests by lawyers.
While Kunta Srinivas, 44, and S. Chiranjeevi, 35, were picked up near Wankidi of Chandrapur on Telanagna-Maharashtra border area, the third accused Akkapaka Kumar , 44, was held in Manthani. They would be presented before the court on Friday.
Another person Bittu Srinu, nephew of a local leader of ruling TRS party, emerged as one of the key conspirators in the case. Hunt is on for him.

The Telangana Police on Thursday (February 18) arrested the three main accused in the twin murders of lawyer-couple G Vaman Rao and his wife PV Nagamani.
The main accused, expelled TRS leader Kunta Srinivas, along with the other two accused, Chiranjeevi and Kumar were arrested from Maharashtra s Chandrapur, where they were in hiding, reported News18.com. The police have also seized the black car used in the crime.
