The special court’s judge RN Rokade said that Enforcement Directorate suppressed a material statement; he said this in a detailed order made available late Wednesday night.
With this relief, Shinde was released from custody on Friday evening. The Bombay High Court had granted bail to both Deshmukh and his personal secretary Sanjeev Palande who are also accused in the case.
The court further said there is no other material of "sterling quality" to connect accused Shinde with the allegation made by the Enforcement Directorate probing the case
