The Allahabad High Court dismissed a PIL seeking to declare the site of the Shahi Idgah Mosque in Mathura as the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The court stated that the issue was already a part of other pending suits. The PIL had requested the removal of the mosque and the formation of a trust to build a temple on the land. The court also mentioned the petitioner s claims about the historical and archaeological facts related to the site.
The Allahabad High Court last week REJECTED an application filed by the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, which manages the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, to defer a hearing in the Gyanvapi-Kashi.
