The event will begin with a traditional Kumeyaay Smudge Ceremony where Elders and Bird Singers will bless the area, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open Ocean Alley and Kumeyaay Way.On Kumeyaay Way, you will have the opportunity to build and launch tule boats with Stan Rodriguez, our Keynote Speaker and President of the Kumeyaay Community College, and learn about traditional crafts and customs.
