Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], April 1 (ANI): Devotees took a holy dip at the Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar on the first day of Kumbh Mela on Thursday. We have come to Haridwar to attend Kumbh Mela 2021. In 2020 the entire world was affected by a coronavirus. But this year it seems the entire world is here to celebrate this holy event. People are in a very good mood, enjoying themselves and taking holy dips in Ganga, said a devotee.
Devotees are following COVID-19 protocol and while taking the holy dip they are also maintaining social distance.
Owing to the ongoing pandemic, the Uttarakhand government has decided to limit the Kumbh this year for 30 days, Chief Secretary Om Prakash had earlier said. The fair to be held for 30 days only in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

Gearing up for Kumbh Mela 2021, the Indian Railways on Wednesday announced 12 more pair of special trains in addition to those already being operated on the Haridwar route.
The Railways hopes to ease the pressure on the network in view of the heavy rush expected for the mega festival.
Also, the 15 pairs of trains already running on the Haridwar route have been augmented to accommodate more passengers, the railways added.
