Posterity Will Judge Us If We Fail To Protect The Environment - Bishop

  The Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana (MCG) has declared support for the ongoing national campaign to halt illegal small-scale mining in all its forms. “Posterity will judge us if we fail to protect the environment,” the Right Reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam, the Diocesan Bishop, cautioned. He said the devastation of the country’s ecology and biodiversity was deeply worrying as the survival of mankind depended on the environment. Right Rev. Andam, who was addressing the 60th Annual Synod of the Diocese at the Adum Wesley Cathedral, Kumasi, said the wanton pollution of water bodies and destruction of forest resources should be tackled head-on.

Ashanti Pastors, Chiefs and professionals host Bawumia and wife to New Year lunch

The Second Family earlier joined various congregations in the region to usher in the New Year Top religious leaders, chiefs and professionals in the Ashanti Region have hosted Vice President Dr. Bawumia and wife Samira Bawumia to lunch on New Year’s Day. This was after the second gentleman and his spouse joined various congregations in the region to usher in the New Year with an appeal to them to continue to lend support to the Akufo-Addo led government to continue to develop the country with various policies and programmes. Dr. Bawumia who assured residents of the garden city of the continuous support of the NPP government reiterated it’s resolve to develop the country regardless of the religious and ethnic backgrounds of Ghanaians. He underscored the significance of religious tolerance which has made Ghana one of the most peaceful countries in West Africa emphasizing that the credit goes to the citizenry.

SLOPSA 1978 Year Group supports alma mater with Legacy Gate Project

+ The 1978 year group of the St Louis Senior High School in Kumasi has gone back to support their alma mater with a legacy gate project meant to give a facelift to the entrance of the school. More than forty members of the 1978 batch of St Louis Past Students Association (SLOPSA), contributed both technical and financial resources to erect the structure. Archbishop of the Kumasi Diocese of the Catholic Church, Gabriel Yaw Anokye, led a team to pray and handover the project at a short ceremony in the school. “This gate is a whole message, whole symbolism and significance. Simple but solemn and supreme frontage. We pray this will encourage other year groups to help in other facilities and other areas of the school’s educational policies”.
