Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Bantwal railway station in Mangaluru. The station will be redeveloped at a cost of ₹28.4 crore.
The department of posts in association with MRPL will release a commemorative postage stamp on the theme ‘Yakshagana’. Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will preside over the programme while chief postmaster general, Karnataka circle, S Rajendra Kumar will release the stamp.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has urged the railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to consider an extension of the train to Mumbai. Rail users and activists also wrote to district minister Dinesh Gundu Rao to ensure that this train is extended to Mumbai.
