Kūlanihākoʻi High School in Kīhei will officially open next month. The $245 million state-of-the art campus will open in August with a temporary certificate of occupancy.
A federal grant of $25,000,000 has been secured for the Līloa Drive extension in Kīhei on Maui as part of Biden-Harris Administration’s Investing in America Agenda. The project will extend Līloa Drive by 2,900 lineal feet and notes the addition of two more roundabouts to the South Maui community.
Kīhei Community Association president Michael Moran points out that his group has had its measure of successes in pushing forward projects that benefitted South Maui from Māʻalaea to Mākena. Maui Now writer Gary Kubota conducted this People of Maui interview.
Maui Lane closures through Feb. 17. The state Department of Transportation will be conducting road work this week that will result in lane closures at various locations.
On Friday, Feb. 10 when work concludes at 3:30 p.m., the contractor will open all lanes through the roundabout. There will be two lanes open in each direction through the roundabout. The right turn lane in and out of Kūlanihākoʻi Street will be open.
