Army appoints new spokesperson

It was gathered that the ongoing shake-up being carried out by the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, Maj-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, will affect some other top military officers at Defence Headquarters, Abuja. Though there is no official statement on the appointment yet but a top military personnel told our correspondent that the COAS said it was expedient to reposition the information units of Nigerian Army. Yerima, before his new appointment was at the PR unit of Defence Headquarters, Abuja. He had also served in various military formations. He obtained a B.A. (Ed) Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University before he enrolled into the Nigerian Army in October 1989 and was commissioned into the corps of Army Public Relations.
